Writing challenge (I am a Writer fb group) 10/8/21

I moved out here to escape the world. This spot has long been abandoned. Once it was hospitable for living, the scientists, whose job it was to terraform Mars, left for other planets in our solar system. The human race has always been considered a form of infection, but now we’ve out grown our planet. Soon we will occupy every rock available to us. For now, this space is mine. No people, just me and my crops. That was until a small space craft crash landed in my wheat field. The man inside was severely injured and on the run. The microchip in his arm read, defector. He was a soldier on the run. But since I scanned him, they will surely be on their way here to get him back.

The guidelines, for fun and challenge
